In established physics, light is electromagnetic radiation and photons are its quantized excitations. Maxwell's equations, quantum electrodynamics, and precision measurements define the tested framework for propagation, polarization, charge, and interaction.
A new microscopic proposal must reproduce these results and specify its own action, degrees of freedom, normalization, and coupling to matter.
The manuscript records the author-originated proposal that light may be a propagating excitation of causal spacetime fabric. For a finite link variable A, F = CᵀA is invariant under A → A + Bᵀχ when BC = 0; this is an exact finite-complex gauge identity.
If a minimal local Lorentz-compatible, parity-even, gauge-invariant quadratic action with no photon mass is additionally adopted, null propagation, transversality, two physical modes, and ω² = c²k² follow within that conditional branch.
The model does not yet derive independent photon-action normalization, physical charge assignments, the elementary charge scale, the fine-structure constant, or complete high-wave-number dynamics.
